Return to RR Home

These are the pages where I will show the history of some of my various modeling efforts. Not all of them are under the banner of Colorado and Western.  I have done modelwork in N scale (both Standard and narrow gauge), HO scale (also both Standard and narrow gauge) and more recently F scale. I will not be covering the F scale here since it is covered elsewhere.

This shot (above) was taken on a version of the Colorado and Western that was torn down in 1997

Red Mountain Town

The shot above is one taken on a Diorama that my friend Keith and I built back about 1980 or so.  The overall size was 30" x 48".  It is a model of the small town of Red Mountain based on information in Bob Sloan's book, the Rainbow Route and visits to the site. The turnouts were stubs and the harp switchstands were brass etchings that would at least move with the turnouts. Another view of Red Mountain Town below - this one shows the depot.

Greymont

This shot was taken on a display that I had initially planned to build into a complete layout. The name of the town in this scene was based on a small town in Colorado called Greymont. My version of Greymont had far more activity than the real one did!

Another scene from Greymont is shown above.  This little mine was on the other end of the previous Greymont scene

The shot above was taken on an HOn3 module that was built several years ago. This particular photo includes a foreground painted on glass to give depth to the scene. The painting includes the tree and grassy hillside.

The Mushroom

Before I made my most recent move, I started on a large layout that included a "mushroom".  A couple of progress shots below.
